The Executive Committee (EC) of MIOA has been meeting on a regular basis, although in normal times the meeting would be in person. After the usual review of financial documents and agreements, the EC reviewed a proposal from the Chair to modify and update the Rules of Procedure, with a focus on clarifying certain processes such as how to identify regional representatives. The EC will review the final draft and agree upon a final set of changes for the EC to offer up to the whole of the Organization for consideration at a future date.

Additionally, the EC discussed the role and continuation of the ICT Panel. It was suggested that MIOA instead rely upon specific ICT specialists in the countries and regions as needed. It was felt that such an informal structure would be more flexible and selected advisors might be more effective for specific projects.

The Regional Representatives made proposals related to the availability of market information at the hemispheric level, in response to requests and comments received at regional meetings. This proposal for a Hemispheric Database/Dashboard was strongly supported by the EC and they accepted a recommendation from the Chair that a Project Development Team be established to manage this critical and complex activity. The Project Development Team will be led by the Chair of MIOA, Terry Long, and include Helena Ramírez, Technical Coordinator of MIOA, and other technical experts at IICA as needed. Kim Mercer of AMS will serve as a staff resource for the Team. Additional information will be coming soon on the process, the scope and the next steps for this project in the coming weeks.

Lastly, the Executive Committee agreed to have virtual meetings monthly. The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
