MIOA participation in the USDA Agricultural Outlook Forum

February 27, 2020

The Market Information Organization of the Americas (MIOA) had the opportunity to participate in the Agricultural Outlook Forum of the United States Department of Agriculture, by placing an information booth on the organization. The event was held on February 20 and 21 in Washington DC.

Ag Outlook is a space where the agricultural community discusses and informs about future perspectives in politics, commerce, science, rural development, and economics. It is an excellent place to learn about initiatives and establish contacts in the United States and internationally. In 2020, the main theme was innovation in agriculture.

The MIOA booth was managed by Terry Long and Jim Bernau, delegates of MIOA in the United States, as well as the members of the Technical Secretariat, Daniel Rodríguez and Helena Ramírez. Participating in Ag Outlook 2020 allowed MIOA to position itself as the hemispheric organization that promotes the transparency of agricultural markets and to show the work done by both the organization and its member countries with the support of IICA. Sonny Perdue, Secretary of Agriculture of the United States, visited the stand to learn about MIOA and recognized the work being done.
